2014 ICF Global Consumer Awareness Study

Global Consumer Awareness Study now online!

Exciting news—ICF Global officially released the 2014 ICF Global Consumer Awareness Study  on Monday, May 19, in conjunction with the start of International Coaching Week. The study, utilizing data from 18,750 individuals in 25 countries, offers new insights about consumer awareness of the coaching profession, clients' reasons for engaging in a coaching partnership, the importance of credentialing and certification, and other information to help you understand the minds and motivations of consumers. A few key findings:

  • Global awareness of coaching is now at 57 percent!
  • Of respondents who have been in a coaching relationship, 85 percent reported being "somewhat satisfied" or "very satisfied" with their experience.
  • Among those who have participated in a coaching relationship, 84 percent said it was "important" or "very important" for a coach to hold a credential or certification.
